All out of gas…
September 28, 2008

On Friday, I was unable to go to work due to the gas shortage that is affecting NC. On my way home Thursday afternoon, I drove completely out of my way, passed 11 gas stations all with no fuel. I then spent over an hour on the phone calling gas stataions all of which said they had no gas and had no idea when they would get some in. Since I wasn’t sure that I would make it home from work the next day- I called in. Apparently I was not the only one in such a predicament. Friday wasn’t a free day mind you. I still did work- just from home and while managing a 2 year old. I actually accomplished alot- surprisingly (is that a word and if so, did I spell it right?). And since I saved the time that I would be normally driving in my car- I even got ahead on my laundry and house work. Yipee.
That left enough time to finish my latest scrapbooking page. I have been trying to come up with a layout using a photo as the main background. What do you think?

Touch Trucks
September 21, 2008

Today we went to the Touch Trucks Charity event with our friends Jenny and Jimmy and thier son Jamison. It was a great event for little boys. Grayson and Jamison loved getting inside all the vehicles and heavy machinery. We saw race cars, fire trucks, police cars, all kinds of construction equipment, and even a helicopter. It was the perfect excuse to get outside to enjoy the amazing weather we’ve had this weekend. I love the fall due to days like this!

Here are our photos from this afternoon and here’s my latest scrapbooking page:

Created with: Whooo Loves Fall kit by Mira Designs (at Digichicks) and the layout is from the Halloween Party sketch in the Oct 2008 Scrapbooks Etc. magazine. Special thanks to Mira Designs for sending me an extra embellishment upon request!

Another SB page and Going to the Fair!
September 14, 2008

Well, I scrapbooked the photos from Tim’s birthday finally. Here’s the page:

I’m sorry to say that myscapbooking has started to really slow down. It seems I was a roll for a while- but with work and all of my other motherly duties- it’s hard to finally finish a page. This one was created using the Bring It On kit from DigiChicks and took me FOREVER to finish.

Now I am working on some photos from the county fair. Mom B and I took Grayson there yesterday and did he enjoy that! Going to the fair definitely brought back some memories of my days in FFA and of the annual “kids day”. I am not sure if that was the official name of the day- but that is what my mom called it when they sold the ride wrist band. Besides Christmas and my birthday- Kid Day was my favorite day of the year! One day Grayson will be old enough to love all those stomach churning rides. Until then, we’ll settle for the white trash Carnie Shows and an occasional funnel cake.

Odds and Ends
September 8, 2008

The last 2 weeks have been a blur. Here’s a recap:

~Over Labor Day weekend, we went up to West Viginia with our friends Carri, Dave, Becky, and Kirk. We stayed in a cabin near Summerville Lake and the New River and gorged ourselves on delicious food. We did a bit of hiking (about 4 miles), a teeny bit of swimming (it took forever to find a good swimming hole), and otherwise just relaxed and enjoyed the company of good friends. Click onthe picture above for photos from the weekend.
It wasn’t the most restful weekend. Grayson stayed in our room and woke each morning at about 6:30…that does not = much sleep if you do not go to bed until 12:00 or later. Tim or I would take him out side for a walk each morning and try to come up with activities to entertain him until everyone else woke up. Of course I am sure that they did not get much rest either considering it is difficult to keep a 2 year old silent- even when outside. Sometime going away for the weekend is more tiring than it is restful!
~ I had my first school assembly for the year on Wednesday. As always, it was a TON of work- but lots of fun. And this year, I was even able to recruit some of the school’s new employees to assist with the set up. Yipee! Our guest speaker was from the US White Water Center and I think that all my middle school students enjoyed attending the assembly. Now I have to start thinking about next month!
~Tim turned 32 on Wednesday. I started out his special day with a yummy cream cheese danish and a cinamon roll from a local bakery. For dinner, Grayson and I took him out for pizza! The real celebration was on Sunday. Renee was kind enough to offer up her brand new pool to host a party! So of course we said yes! We invited the family over and grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs. Now that was a relaxing day! I wish I could convince Tim to build us a pool! Here are photos from yesterday.

Fours…
September 5, 2008

My friend Tiffiany called me out on her blog- so here’s my response. Sorry it has taken so long Tif!

A) Four places that I go over and over:
work, Grayson’s Daycare, Costco, Target

B) Four people who e-mail me (regularly):
oooh this is a toughy. I mean technically anyone who leaves a comment on my blog e-mails me- so I’d say the top four are: Renee’, Jacqueline, Tiffany, and Courtney

C) Four of my favorite places to eat:
Outback, Firebirds Rocky Mountain Steak House, Panera, Olive Garden

D) Four places I would rather be right now:
in Greece, at the beach, in bed sleeping, in the moutains

E) Four people I think will respond: Renee, Jacqueline, Anna, Angelle

F) Four TV shows I watch all the time: (If the new season would ever start: Lost, Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, The Office) Right now during re-runs: Thomas and Friends, The Office, Devine Design, Blue Clues

Here’s what you are supposed to do…and please don’t spoil the fun… copy, delete my answers, type in your answers and send it to a bunch of people, including me!

Also, my friend Anna has finally started her own blog. She has been lurking around mine (and most likely yours too) for quite sometime. Check out her site and tell her I sent ya!
